Dr Monika Walia
Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr Monika Walia is a Consultant Psychiatrist and has been working in the field of psychiatry for 15 years.
Originally from India, her career in Psychiatry began with training in the UK where she attained Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists and worked as Consultant Psychiatrist in NHS Wales, UK. Monika is also a member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). She has worked as Consultant Psychiatrist in Queensland Health where she was also Chief Training Supervisor and Director of Medical Education.
She has a vast experience in assessment and management of all mental health disorders, including mood and anxiety conditions, psychotic presentations, work related stress, relationship stress and trauma related conditions. She has special interest in Youth mental health and Perinatal disorders. She likes to work closely with the referring doctors and allied health involved in her patient’s care.
Along with working at Riveredge Consultanting, Monika Walia also continues to work at Headspace in the specialist Headspace Youth Early Psychosis Programme.
In her spare time Monika Walia enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys travelling and learning about new cultures, and will never turn down a chance to gain a new experience. Dr Monika Walia prides herself in being easy to talk to and always aims to make her patients feel comfortable and help them feel like they’re in a safe space.
Dr Ravi Rawlley
Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr Ravi Rawlley is a General Adult Psychiatrist, providing psychiatric care to an age group between 14-70 years. His special interests are Treatment Resistant Anxiety Spectrum Disorders and Depression, Bipolar Spectrum Disorders, Neurodevelopmental disorders including Autism and ADHD, and Occupational Psychiatry.
Ravi has been working in the field of Psychiatry since 2003. He obtained his specialist qualifications in the UK (MRCPsych) and moved to Australia in 2008.
He is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). He has previously worked as a consultant Psychiatrist in the Gold Coast University Hospital and the Integrated Psychiatric Services at The Toowoomba Hospital before moving to full time private practice.
Ravi loves to read, watch movies and travel in his spare time. He is a proud father of two kids.
Nicole Strydom
Psychologist
Nicole Strydom is a registered psychologist with over fourteen years of experience working with adults and couples. She specializes in helping clients maximize their potential, improve their psychological wellness and cope with life’s challenges.
Originally from Melbourne, Nicole has experience delivering focused psychological inventions in hospital and private practice settings. Her interests cover a broad range of psychological issues including addictions, adjustment and transition challenges, anger management, anxiety, assertiveness and communication improvement, coaching, depression, grief and loss, relationship issues, self-esteem improvement, sleep, stress management and trauma.
Nicole has developed a non-judgemental and empathetic approach to therapy. She works comfortably within an eclectic mix of therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Schema Therapy, Solution Focussed Therapy, Psycho-education to provide a framework to suit each individual client’s needs.
Nicole is committed to helping individuals find balance in their lives and sustainable solutions to issues they may be facing. She is passionate about mental health wellness and success for her is seeing people achieve their potential and get the most out of their personal and professional lives.
